Boonk Van Leeuwen is a law firm active in the field of national and International procedural law and in the area of trade law, all in the broadest sense. The material emphasis is on maritime law, inland navigation law and other transport law, (maritime) insurance law and (ship-)construction law.
Boonk Van Leeuwen advises and litigates, the latter on the basis of very extensive procedural experience gained in dealing with all sorts of commercial legal proceedings both before the Dutch Courts as well as in (International) arbitrations.
The lawyers that founded Boonk Van Leeuwen in 1996, were until that time working together as part of a group of so-called “trade and transport” lawyers within a large Rotterdam based firm. With on average 10 years experience in every field of transport law they laid the basis for a firm with a preference for procedural law and trade law.
The clients of Boonk Van Leeuwen consist of entrepreneurs and enterprises, from small to large and from domestic to global. The extensive experience in conducting commercial proceedings enables Boonk Van Leeuwen to assess efficiently and adequately what the possibilities and limitations in a given case are and to act accordingly.
Boonk Van Leeuwen consists of a group of specialised lawyers with different backgrounds (see the page “lawyers at BVL”). This diversity between the individual lawyers and the joint cooperation give the firm as a whole its significant added value. All lawyers at Boonk Van Leeuwen serve the clients with much dedication; the “extra length” is applied as standard. In general Boonk Van Leeuwen further distinguishes itself by being creative and even outright unconventional if that is called for in the interest of the given case.
