IHC Holland, location Sliedrecht, The Netherlands, is part of Royal IHC (IHC) and designs and builds a range of standard (IHC Beaver®) and custom-built cutter suction dredgers. It also manufactures auxiliary products (for use with cutter suction dredgers) and stationary dredging equipment, such as plain suction and bucket ladder dredgers. Small to medium-sized trailing suction hopper dredgers – designed in Kinderdijk – can also be built at the company’s shipyard.
Much attention is paid to optimising the technical and economic quality of the designs. All main dredging components and systems are designed and produced within IHC. Other parts are manufactured in close co-operation with suppliers in this region of The Netherlands, which guarantees optimum integration of dredging systems and other vital components.
State-of-the-art facilities and highly qualified personnel ensure the delivery of first class products. Standard dredgers are built for immediate delivery from IHC’ stockyard. Custom-built dredgers are developed in close co-operation with the customer. The vessels can be equipped with a wide range of technologically advanced instruments and automatic controls to optimise their dredging capabilities.
The facilities in Sliedrecht consist of a 24,000m² covered building complex on the waterfront, located on a wide waterway with open access to the Rotterdam port area. There is a vessel slipway of approximately 130 by 22.5 metres in length and breadth respectively, with three 40-tonne overhead travelling cranes.
