Within Netherlands Maritime Technology, Joëlla is responsible for:
- Participation in Trade activities such as Holland Pavilions, TERs & trade missions
- Participation in the Maritime Awards Gala
As Trade Promotion Coordinator I support Dutch maritime companies in increasing their commercial activities abroad, in particular by organising both Holland Pavilions at leading maritime trade exhibitions and trade missions.
I have been working at Netherlands Maritime Technology since 2013; initially as a graduate intern at the Marketing & Communications department, then as Marketing & Communications Advisor for a period of 2.5 years. In this position I was responsible for all of NMT’s communication related to innovation, the websites and social media. I was also project leader of the NMT sailing day and coordinator of the Maritime Awards Gala. Due to my passion for event organising and travel, it was a logical step for me to apply for the Trade Promotion Manager position when it became available and I joined the team on 1 June 2016. From 1 October 2019 I’ll have the Trade Promotion Coordinator function.
When I started as an intern I was surprised by the enormous pride which people have for the maritime sector. It won me over and I am very proud to be active in this industry. In my private life, many of my close friends and relatives are sailors. I love hearing their stories about their careers at sea and discovering the other side of this fascinating sector.
In addition to my role as Trade Promotion Manager, I am responsible for managing and coordinting the Trade department. I am also the fixed contact person (Member Advisor) for a number of members. I am also pleased to support members with any substantive questions or advocacy related to the sector or individual companies on a (regional, national, European and international level).
