My name is Marnix Krikke. I’m a naval architect and have worked on the fascinating dividing lines between businesses, governments and research institutes since 2007. In my previous marine functions in the equipment department of the Ministry of Defence, I’ve been able to contribute to innovations on naval vessels. This experience is very useful in my current role, as I am responsible for everything the industry does to promote maritime innovations and remove obstacles to them.
My work is based on the conviction that joint efforts to acquire knowledge and innovation add value to businesses. I also manage our activities in the area of human capital. This fits in well with innovation as well-educated people are the key to technological progress, and without knowledge development, we cannot organise training courses of a suitable standard.
An especially important activity is contributing to the maritime part of the Dutch government’s top sector Water. I enjoy working with the Innovation and Human Capital teams on the launch and shaping of joint projects, and ensuring that governments take measures that are good for the marine companies. Working with such motivated and skilled employees in and outside our organisation gives me energy.
In addition to my role as Innovation & Human Capitol Director, I am the dedicated contact person (Member Advisor) for a number of members. I am also pleased to support members with any substantive questions or advocacy related to the sector or individual companies on a (regional, national, European and international level).
