Roel de Graaf

Managing Director

I started as Managing Director at Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) on 1 July 2016. After completing my Shipbuilding studies at the higher technical college (HTS) in Dordrecht, I worked for various maritime companies. My first employer in the early 1980s was Bureau den Boer, a naval architecture and marine engineering company on the Singel in Dordrecht. My first management role was at shipyard De Haas in Maassluis, since when I have held various other management positions at Vahali, IHC Metalix and IHC Interior & Piping.

It was while I was Managing Director at IHC Metalix that I first joined the Board of Holland Marine Equipment, from 2002 to 2005. In May 2015 I became a Board member on behalf of CIG NV. I now have 35 years of experience in the maritime sector and extensive knowledge of the international playing field. I am happy to use my experience for the benefit of NMT. Together with a highly driven team I am committed to ensuring that NMT is a reliable partner for its members, creating conditions in which they can conduct their business with confidence.

In addition to my role as Managing Director, I am the dedicated contact person (Member Advisor) for a number of members.  I am also pleased to support members with any substantive questions or advocacy related to the sector or individual companies on a (regional, national, European and international level).
