Maritime Hotspots

Companies, governments and educational institutions launched the project Maritime Hotspots on the 7th of november 2012. The purpose of this project is to create a more intensive collaboration with important maritime regions around the world. The focus is not only on strengthening the trade relations but also on creating synergy within the areas, innovation and human capital. Eventually the Netherlands should be seen as the place to be for everything that has to do with the maritime industry in the maritime hotspots. On October 22, 2015 the conference ‘The Next Maritime Hotspots’ has taken place. The regions South-East Asia, the Gulf of Mexico and the Arabian Gulf are elected as new maritime hotspots. Besides that Brazil also remains a focus country.

Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) is actively involved in the organization of activities in the Maritime Hotspots and especially in South-East Asia.
