Prominent Dutch superyacht companies join forces with NMT

A group of prominent Dutch superyacht companies will join forces with trade association Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) in the newly established Holland Superyacht Platform. This strategic alliance will focus primarily on the worldwide branding and export of the superyacht industry, strengthening the Dutch maritime industry as a whole.

The superyacht companies and the 400+ members of NMT have a lot in common. They all specialize in high-end shipbuilding and cutting-edge maritime technology. In that perspective, the accession of the superyacht industry to the successful NMT-network is a logical step. Marcel van der Spek, Commercial Director at Esthec, is very enthusiastic about the collaboration. “NMT has an incredible track record when it comes to creating new business opportunities for its members worldwide. That is why I am convinced that NMT is the right partner for our industry.”

For centuries the Dutch flag stands for the highest quality in craftsmanship and innovation in shipbuilding. Last year the total revenue of the Dutch maritime-technology sector grew to 7,3 billion euro’s. The total order book for the superyacht industry by the end of 2018 had an estimated value of 4,1 billion euro’s. NMT’s managing director Roel de Graaf is proud to have the superyacht industry ‘on board’. “We now represent even more the Dutch maritime sector has to offer.”
