The training series Design of Marine Auxiliary Systems covers the main aspects of marine auxiliary systems on board of vessels or offshore platforms. During four modules you will obtain an overview of the main auxiliary systems, their main components and the fundamental working principles. Module 1, providing an overview of all relevant aspects of auxiliary system design, has been completely renewed in close cooperation with Simwave. Their interactive machinery room simulation tools will be used for exercises and illustration of the theory.
Each module can be followed separately, but combined they provide you with a complete overview of and the in-depth knowledge required to design all marine auxiliary systems.
Module 1 is intended to give an overview of all relevant aspects of auxiliary system design: functions, systems, components, layout of systems, pump/compressor and system characteristics and their interaction. The module includes both lectures and practical exercises.

Participants are made aware of the cost implications of design choices, allowing them to make cost effective system designs. Thanks to its international setting, the course offers companies in the maritime cluster an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and to network with colleagues, clients and/or suppliers. This will enable them to enhance their position as a partner in the shipbuilding process.

This module is of interest to system designers, technical purchasers and superintendents. Lecturers are Prof. ir. Douwe Stapersma and assistant professor Peter de Vos MSc of the Delft University of Technology and the Royal Netherlands Naval College.
