GS Yard is a Dutch shipyard constructing inland tankers and inland waterway transportation ships. In 2007 GS Yard opened its business on the former van Diepen Shipyard site, with two directors in charge, Daniel Gausch (engineering specialist) an Christian Hochbein (financial expert). The experience and innovation potential of both directors resulted in the fabrication of a standard inland vessel that has been reengineered, called the Sunrise project. The Sunrise tankers are extremely advantageous because of emission reduction and fuel efficiency traits. Another vessel which is produced at GS Yard are bulk carriers. These are able not to travel only in inland water but in coastal waters as well. Four of these vessels have been constructed so far for Wijnne Barends. Recently the hull of two river cruiseliners were built for De Gerlien van Tiem, where they were completed in order to travel on the Rhine.Furthermore GS Yard repairs vessels and reconstructs in land tankers. At GS Yard are approximately 60 people employed alongside a strong network of suppliers.
