Arkitech delivers new ARK M20 system to the ferry and cruise industry

March 25 2021

The renewed ARK M20 system of Arkitech is successfully delivered to one of the largest cruise-ferry vessels on the Mediterranean Sea, in cooperation with Dockside. The system gives a holistic overview of the components of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) onboard. With help of the ARK M20 system, the vessel’s HVAC-system uses 20 to 30 percent less energy without loss of comfort. Additionally, the new system offers a platform to monitor the internal air quality on the vessel. This way ARK M20 is a tool for ship management to save energy and to create a safer environment for crew and passengers. The ARK M20 system is applicable to offshore-, ferry-, cruise- and naval vessels. After an inspection of the vessel, we guarantee cost savings of on average 150.000 euros per year for cruise ships and 50.000 euros per year for ferries. The development of the system was supported by a subsidy (Subsidieregeling Duurzame Scheepsvaart) granted by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Due to this subsidy, we were able to lay the foundation for the new ARK M20 system together with our partner Dockside Shipfacilities. The system is now ready to reduce the carbon emissions of the shipping industry on a large scale and to facilitate a healthier environment for crew and passengers.
