10-Year survey the Wandelaar, pilotstation on the Northsea exploited by DAB Vloot

DAB Vloot, shipowner of the Flemish government and part of the agency for maritime and coastal services, awarded Gebhard Electro the contract for inspection and maintenance of the complete electrical installation of the diesel-electrically powered pilotstation Wandelaar during its 10-year survey.
Gebhard Electro was responsible for the entire inspection and maintenance of the electrical systems. The project was carried out in collaboration with various partners.
An extensive on-board recording was performed prior to docking, to map the condition of the switchboards, drive systems, electric motors and generators. In collaboration with Bakker Repair, a vibration measurement was carried out to measure the condition of the bearings in order to preventively replace them if needed. To visualize the condition of the switchboards, Gebhard Electro carried out a thermal measurement.
During this 10-year survey, the bearings of the motors and generators were replaced based on their condition. The electrical switchboards have been preventive and corrective maintained. This included a cable insulation test and the calibration of the main breakers.
