New Branch Office in Cannes for Arntz|van Helden / Halyard Risk

February 9 2024

With pride, we hereby announce that our company will be opening a new office in Cannes, South France, starting from March 1, 2024. With this new base, we aim to address the growing demand efficiently and swiftly for damage expertise and JH143 shipyard inspections along the Mediterranean coast. The services from Cannes will extend from Barcelona to beyond Viareggio (Italy). We have entered a collaboration for this with an agency that conducts flag state inspections in the same region.

Collaboration

Our colleague (and co-founder of Halyard Risk), Arnold Warmerdam, will lead the new branch in Cannes on behalf of Arntz|van Helden/Halyard Risk. With years of experience and expertise as a surveyor and risk consultant, Arnold will collaborate with Eduard Henny, also an experienced and esteemed maritime surveyor in the international maritime industry. Eduard works, amongst other things, as a flag state surveyor for the Cayman Islands and has specific knowledge of the Mediterranean market. Together, this new team offers a comprehensive package of maritime expert services to insurers, (insurance) brokers, and owners. In addition to flag state inspections, the services include condition surveys, appraisals, and pre-entry surveys for (mega) yachts, as well as local risk
inspections for shipyards (JH143) during new construction and refits. Regarding the latter services, it is also noteworthy that, alongside his duties for the new branch in Cannes, Arnold will continue his mentor role for global JH143 shipyard inspections.

Close and Efficient

Our new office in Cannes brings the services of Arntz|van Helden/Halyard Risk closer to the insured damage events of our clients. In addition, the team also provides support for assignments from the logistics and land equipment departments of Arntz that take place in the Mediterranean region. By being on-site, we can respond more quickly and efficiently to requests. The focus remains on managing risks and minimising damages, whether it is an incident at sea or damage during construction or refit. Our clients can rely on the expertise, transparent communication, and clear reporting style of Arnold Warmerdam and Eduard Henny. They look forward to not only continuing the pleasant collaboration with existing customers but also building valuable new relationships.
