Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology commissioned for series of seven Arklow vessels

March 15 2021

Having already delivered over ten dry bulk vessels to the Royal Bodewes shipyard in Hoogezand (NL), Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has again been commissioned to install a new Arklow series. We had previously delivered four vessels from the 16,800 DWT W-series for Arklow Shipping in 2019 and 2020. For the new series of 6,600 DWT vessels, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is providing the complete package of engineering, panel construction, installation and implementation. In addition, we will be responsible for the entire electrical propulsion for the bowthruster, shaft generators, monitoring of the tanks and main engine, UMS alarm system and LED lighting package. The final stages of construction are planned for mid-2022. “Good preparation is half the battle won, which is why the engineering team at the Urk head office has already started,” says sales manager Piet Roskam. The Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology team is very pleased with the continuance of this partnership with the Groningen yard. “We work together well,” adds Roskam. “Efficient cooperation ensures we are able to deliver the best vessels quickly and fully in line with planning.”
