DNEX Pacific Link is a 27 years old sub-marine cable laying vessel, equipped with 3 x Bow Thrusters and 2 x Azimuth thrusters, capable of laying and maintaining sub-marine cables. The vessel had received a major overhaul to replaced its onboard obsolete system before she goes for operation in South East Asia.
Jerome Lin, who is the Commercial Director at Praxis Automation Far East in Singapore: “one of the biggest challenges faced by today’s ship owner is the onboard electronic systems facing obsolescence issues very fast: on average only 10 years’ time. That hampers the ship operation. We have seen this trend and address it by providing a guarantee minimum 20 years of spare support to our customers. Thanks to our own inhouse developed/manufactured software and hardware. We are proud to be selected as a technology partner by DNeX for this major retrofit project and achieved this important milestone together with our customer’s support during COVID-19 time”.
“Our cable laying vessel DNeX Pacific Link will play a major part in delivering our promise to our customer. As a turnkey end-to-end solutions provider for marine fibre optic and power cables.” said Faizal Nordin, the Technology Manager of DNeX Telco Services Sdn Bhd: “with Praxis’s common hardware approach and guarantee spare support, we will further improve our operation efficiency by reduction of down time and Opex, despite the global COVID-19 disruption to the industry, we are blessed to have a team of committed Praxis Singapore engineers who continue to support us even during this difficult time. We look forward to more future cooperation with Praxis Automation”.
