Damen Shipyards Group has signed a contract with the Polidano Group for the delivery of two Combi Freighters (CF) 3850. The Malta-based company will use the vessels primarily for the transport of aggregates for its construction business. The new vessels will be named Denise P and Julia P in honour of Polidano family members.

Surveys begin on new pipeline corridor supporting Dutch energy transition

Fugro, in partnership with engineering consultancy Sweco, has begun soil investigation fieldwork for the Delta Rhine Corridor West (DRC West). Commissioned by Gasunie, this major infrastructure project will create new pipelines linking industrial areas between Rotterdam, Moerdijk and Boxtel. The network will transport hydrogen and direct captured CO₂ to designated offshore storage sites, playing a key role in supporting industrial decarbonisation and advancing the Netherlands’ wider energy transition.

Damen delivers second of four Combi Freighters 3850 to Reederei Bernd Sibum

On 25 March, Damen Shipyards Group delivered the second of four Combi Freighters (CF) 3850 to Reederei Bernd Sibum following successful sea trials in Shanghai. The vessels are being constructed at Damen Yichang Shipyard in China. The first vessel, delivered at the beginning of February, is currently on its maiden voyage, bound for Norway with a project cargo.

Vanaf 1 april 2026 gelden er snelheidsbeperkingen voor al het vaarverkeer in het gebied rond de Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam. In deze Erasmusbrugzone, van de Waterbussteiger aan de Willemskade tot de radartoren aan de Boompjes, geldt vanaf dan een maximumsnelheid van 20 kilometer per uur. Deze en andere maatregelen moeten zorgen voor meer overzicht en veiligheid in één van de drukst bevaren en meest complexe stukken vaarwater van Nederland.
