Aanpassingen ETS positieve eerste stap voor sector
De Europese Commissie heeft plannen gepresenteerd om ETS aan te passen. Geld moet terug gaan vloeien naar de verduurzaming van de sector en de ETS-grens voor schepen wordt verlaagd (tussen 400 & 5000GT). Damen Shipyards Group has signed a contract with Seaspan ULC for the delivery of two ASD Tugs 2813. The signing took place on 19 May, at the International Tug and Salvage (ITS) Convention in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Alewijnse levert indrukwekkende elektrische transformatie van superjacht Draak bij Oceanco op
Alewijnse heeft de elektrische scope van het 92,9 meter lange jacht Draak bij Oceanco opgeleverd. Het superjacht werd oorspronkelijk in 2014 door Oceanco opgeleverd, maar de terugkeer naar de Life Cycle Support werf in Zwijndrecht markeerde een nieuw hoofdstuk in de geschiedenis van het schip. Daar werd Draak getransformeerd tot een ‘companion yacht’ voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek, oceaanverkenning en de ondersteuning van grootschalige operaties op zee.

Damen Naval contracts Libra-Plast for PES project
Damen Naval has signed a procurement contract with Libra-Plast AS in Norway for the delivery of all watertight, weathertight and gastight doors and hatches for the PES project. Under this project, a Damen SIGMA frigate will be built by COTECMAR at its shipyard in Cartagena.
Renovatie Papendrechtsebrug: werven blijven bereikbaar voor hoge scheepvaart
Vrijdag 17 juli start de grootschalige renovatie van de Papendrechtsebrug. Mede dankzij de inzet van sectormanager Erik Peters blijven de achterliggende werven deels bereikbaar voor de hoge scheepvaart. Hij heeft er, in samenwerking met Rijkswaterstaat, voor gezorgd dat de brug eenmaal per maand open kan voor hoog scheepvaartverkeer. Nodig ook, want er zijn geen alternatieve routes voor de werven.

Alewijnse’s electrical expertise has played a key role in the transformation of the 92.9m yacht into a purpose-built exploration vessel. Alewijnse is proud to announce the completion of the successful delivery of its electrical scope for the Draak, Oceanco’s extensively rebuilt 92.9m / 305ft yacht. Originally delivered by Oceanco in 2014, Draak has undergone a comprehensive rebuild at Oceanco’s Life Cycle Support facilities in Zwijndrecht. This has transformed the vessel into a highly capable companion yacht, equipped for scientific research, marine exploration and extended operations.

Our 35-metre LALABE claimed four awards in total, three trophies at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards in Kitzbühel (Outstanding Exterior Design, Best Interior Design, and Best Naval Architecture), followed by a Judges' Commendation at the World Superyacht Awards 2026 in Venice, the industry's only peer-reviewed recognition. A remarkable result for the yacht, her owners, and everyone involved in the build.
