On Wednesday 4 March, the next Young NMT event will take place at VDL AEC Maritime. We would like to welcome you from 16:00 to 18:30 at the headquarters of the VDL Groep in Eindhoven.
After the welcome by our hosts VDL Groep and VDL AEC Maritime it is time for our main theme: ‘Reducing emissions in shipping’. This is currently a hot topic, because of the global sulphur limit that has been set by the IMO since 1 January 2020. Niels Lyklema, senior policy officer for Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, will tell us more about the policy side of reducing emissions in shipping. After his presentation, we will have a panel discussion with a number of parties who play an important role in reducing emissions:
- Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (policymaker)
- VDL AEC Maritime (scrubber supplier)
- Spliethoff (shipowner)
- DNV GL (classification society)
- Shell (marine fuel supplier)
- Royal IHC (shipbuilder/designer)
After the panel discussion, there will be plenty of time for networking at the get together, while enjoying a drink offered by our host, the VDL Groep.
