Damen Verolme Rotterdam, active since 1957, is a ship repair yard situated in close proximity to the North Sea, in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Damen Verolme Rotterdam can accommodate any seagoing vessel or floating offshore unit. The yard is well known for its drydocking, repair and maintenance capabilities and has a long track record of modification and conversion of ‘upstream’ offshore units. Recently the yard diversified itself by adding offshore unit decommissioning to its services.On June 30th, 2017 the yard was acquired by the Damen Shipyards Group and became a Damen Shiprepair & Conversion company. This acquisition fits Damen’s strategy to increase its capacity in the offshore market.The shipyard has a rich history and is proud to retain the Verolme name. Mr. Cornelis Verolme started building the large drydock in Rotterdam’s Botlek area in 1970.The 405 x 90m graven drydock can easily accommodate rigs, semi-submersibles and jack-ups as well as the largest vessels in the world.
