On 1 May 2021, it is exactly 60 years since Piet Brouwer started out as an entrepreneur on the former island of Urk. What began in 1961 has now grown into a leading electrotechnology company that operates worldwide.
In May of 1961, Piet Brouwer started out as an independent entrepreneur on the former island of Urk, which has a strong connection to the local fishing industry. His first client gave him an ultimatum: either you do it or we will find someone else. With some help, Piet ultimately took the leap. “It is as much about making money as it is about helping each other. That lets you build relationships with your satisfied clients,” the company’s founder – who has since passed – used to say. Today, almost sixty years later, the next generation runs the company, which now operates on a global scale and whose team of hard-working professionals is standing by to go to work for its clients day and night.
